Our culture hears many false messages about the church today. On July 18 & 19, we want our city to hear one simple message: We Love Yakima! |

This summer, the entire church is invited to join together to bless the city of Yakima. What if we combined our desire to worship God, serve in His name and share the good news of Jesus Christ into one weekend event? Those are all the goals of one small event on July 18 & 19 that we are calling, "We Love Yakima." Here is what we are asking everyone in the church to consider doing.
Arrive here at the church at 8 am on Saturday, July 18. We will have a simple breakfast together and talk about our vision to reach our community.
Next, we will go out and serve in the community and in the church. Some of the opportunities will include helping with the Union Gosepl Mission or possibly helping clean up some parks. The goal is to find simple ways to bless our city and let the love of Christ shine.

At lunchtime, we will come back together at West Side and have a time of praise and worship. If you are able, we are going to ask you to fast during this meal, and, if able, for the remainder of the day. We are asking everyone to fast for three reasons.
- We fast to be humble in our worship. We live in a land of abundance, and we do not want to take God's blessing lightly.
- We fast to remember Jesus Christ. During the time that we would eat we will remember that Jesus came and is going to come again soon.
- We fast to empathize with the poor. There are many in the world today who live off of one meal a day. Fasting for one day reminds us of those who face this real struggle today.
At around 1:30 pm we will send you home. Once again we are asking that if you are able, to fast for the remainder of the day.
At 6 pm, instead of having dinner, we will have a simple time of prayer and reflection at the church.
Sunday, July 19 come and worship together.
After second service, we will have a simple lunch together. As the family of God we will break the fast and celebrate God's goodness to us.
