| What is 'lifepath community' and how is that different from a seminar?
'lifepath community' is a gathering of everyone who is either involved in a seminar or is interested in learning more. It gives us an opportunity to hear what God is doing in each of the seminars and to have a sense of how we are part of a larger movement of God's people toward Christlikeness. At each LC, seminars are introduced for the next two months so people can make an informed decision about what they will do.
What makes these seminars worth my time?
At West Side, we have many great opportunities to grow in our knowledge of God's Word. But we want more than that. We want to learn how to be like Jesus in real life. We want to live our faith in our marriages...at work...with our finances...in our personal quiet time...in the nuts and bolts of everyday life. Rather than just passing on more information in lifepath seminars, we can be more relational by sharing stories and successes, strategies and struggles, all the while growing with each other in Christ...on our lifepath.
How are the seminars alike or different?
The seminars all share the same purpose: to help people take the next step on their journey to Christlikeness. However, seminars vary in subject, length, and frequency. Subjects are offered in a variety of areas because we are all at different stages in our spiritual growth, and have different needs. The length and frequency of seminars is different because some require more time than others to explore an area of growth.
How long are each of the seminars?
The length varies depending on the seminar. Some seminars are very short-term and have a clear beginning and ending date. Others, such as marriage and parenting, address a broader scope of ideas and need more time to develop biblical life skills. So, you will notice those ongoing seminars are available each month, though the subject continues to change from week to week. |

| Will past seminars be repeated?
Yes, all seminars will be offered again in the future. Because we are still in the early stages of developing this ministry, a long-term schedule has not yet been developed. Please be patient with the leaders as they discern the best way to offer seminars at a frequency that truly addresses the varied needs of people.
Are workbooks required for seminars?
No, not all seminars require a workbook or book. However, many seminars use a publication because it provides a useful tool for developing biblical life skills. The Word of God is central to all we do, but the practical challenges of life demand that we learn how to understand the many ways the Bible is applied in our ever-changing circumstances. These tools help us wrestle together with the implications of God's Word and help encourage accountability for application. |
